A baby was found abandoned at King’s Circle station in Mumbai during the wee hours of Friday, September 13.

Extra forces had been deployed at suburban railway stations the previous day on account of Ganpati Visarjan. Around 12:15 am, a Government Railway Police (GRP) staffer reportedly spotted the abandoned baby at the station premises.

The abandoned baby was three to four months old and did not bear any injuries, GPR officials said.

After failing to trace the child’s parents, the baby was rushed to a nearby hospital for a checkup. The baby is doing fine.

Meanwhile, Wadala GRP has registered an FIR against the parents and started scanning CCTV footage of the area to ascertain who left him at the station.
