Barely 20 hours after the Sessions Court fire, another blaze reportedly broke out in a metal workshop near Nariyalwadi Cemetery, located between Mumbai’s Dockyard Road and Reay Road areas, around midnight.

Fire department was alerted about the mishap around 12:15 am, following which six fire tenders and four water tankers were pressed into service. No casualties were reported as of 1:15 am, when fire fighting operations ceased.

Since the area is surrounded by chawls, hundreds of locals took to the streets, leading to a minor chaos. Locals alleged that the blaze started due to a cylinder blast, but the same could not be independently confirmed. Further details are awaited.

This is the 8th fire-related incident in the maximum city in less than a week.
