No Maharashtra bandh, no Kranti Morcha on January 10: Police
Days after Dalit protestors brought the state to a standstill, a state of panic ensued after a new message from prominent Maratha group ‘Sakal Maratha Samaj’ calling for another ‘Maharashtra Bandh’ on January 10 started circulating on social media.
However, Thane police has now clarified that the message is fake and that efforts are being made to find and take action against those responsible for circulating the messages on platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter etc.
Please don’t believe in any rumours about Maratha Kranti Morcha calling for a #MaharashtraBandh on January 10. This info has also been denied by Maratha community & Maratha Kranti Morcha. Thane city police is taking necessary action on those who are spreading such rumours.

The clarification came after Sakal Maratha Samaj and Maharashtra Kranti Morcha denied any involvement with the bandh call. The latter also wrote to Thane police demanding action against miscreants who were spreading rumours on social media.
Police have urged citizens to ignore and refrain from forwarding such messages to friends and family members.
