Police are likely to book the owners of Mojo’s Bistro on charges of culpable homicide

A day after the inquiry committee submitted its report to the Municipal commissioner concluding that the Kamala Mills fire started from Mojo’s Bistro and not 1Above as believed earlier, Mumbai Police are in the process of booking the former’s owners.

Till now, Mumbai Police had filed four cases in connection with the incident. Three cases were filed for violating the Town Planning Act, for which both 1Above and Mojo’s Bistro had been booked. However, the latter was not booked for culpable homicide.

Meanwhile, cops have arrested Kevin Bawa and Libson Lopez, who worked as managers at 1Above. They have also announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh to anyone who can provide information about the owners of 1Above, who’ve been absconding since the incident took place on December 29.
