In Pics: Girder of under-construction bridge, crane collapse on SV Road, Goregaon
A girder along with a crane collapsed on S.V Road in Mumbai’s Goregaon area early morning on Sunday, police said.
The incident took place near the MTNL office in suburban Goregaon where the constriction of a flyover is currently underway.
Although no injuries were reported in the mishap, the incident affected the flow of traffic on the busy route, prompting traffic police to issue an advisory to citizens.
Traffic police have urged citizens to use the Sainath Subway or Mrinal Tai Gore bridge to commute towards Vasari hill, Chincholi bunder or Prem Nagar road while travelling between Goregaon and Malad.
“A girder along with a crane collapsed on S V Road at MTNL bridge during construction work. Pls use Sainath Subway/ Mrinal Tai Gore bridge for commuting on East/ West direction or Vasari hill, Chincholi bunder or Prem Nagar road for travelling from/ to Malad – Goregaon (sic),” Mumbai police tweeted.

Meanwhile, work on removing the crane and the girder is underway.
