Shamita Shetty’s driver slapped by motorist after accident near Viviana Mall, Thane
In yet another case of road rage, actor Shamita Shetty was abused and her driver thrashed by a motorist and his friends following an accident in Thane on Tuesday afternoon.
According to reports, Shetty had come to Thane for some personal work when a car rammed into her BMW from behind near Viviana Mall, Majiwada around 1:30 pm yesterday.
When her driver got down from the vehicle to inspect the damage, the motorist and two of his friends got down from their car and started abusing him. When the actor stepped down, the trio passed remarks on her as well.
The group also slapped the driver, Darshan Sawant, and threatened him before leaving the spot.
Following the incident, Sawant approached Rabodi police station and filed a complaint against the attackers. While Sawant did not know the identity of the men, he was able to provide cops with their vehicle’s registration number.
The police have already managed to identify the vehicle and are currently working on tracing its owner. Meanwhile, Raboli police have also registered a case against the trio under sections 279, 323, 427, 504, 506, and 34 of the Indian Penal code.
Some reports suggest that the motorist in question was affiliated with an app-based cab aggregator firm, although confirmation from the police on the same is awaited.
