Video: Major fire breaks out near Mumbai Income Tax office at Scindia House, Fort
A major fire broke out next to the Income Tax Office located at Scindia House in Mumbai’s Fort area on Friday evening.
According to preliminary information, the fire broke out at 4:55 pm today on the 3rd floor of the ground plus six-storey Scindia House, located at Ballard Estate, Fort. The building was evacuated shortly after as a precautionary measure.
The strong winds, owing to the building’s proximity to the sea, caused the fire to escalate and spread to nearby offices.
The Mumbai Fire Brigade was immediately notified about the blaze, following which two fire tenders were rushed to the spot. The fire was later escalated to Level II, and subsequently to Level III.
