10,000 free tickets for Coldplay’s Mumbai gig to be up for grabs on September 18
The response to the Global Citizen Festival India, which will be launched on November 19 with a concert at MMRDA grounds in Bandra-Kurla Complex, has been phenomenal to say the least.
The tickets for the first two phases of the event, which were opened for online booking at BookMyShow on Thursday, were sold out in less than a day.
“The response from India has been phenomenal. Over 2,00,000 have registered as Global Citizens on www.globalcitizen.in. We had over 4 million pageviews and over 2,00,000 actions since the initiative was launched on November 12,” said Sabbas Joseph, founder-director, Wizcraft International Entertainment, the event’s producer.
“The action journey draw button for the first 10,000 free tickets will be live from Sunday (September 18) to Thursday (September 22). Every Global Citizen must earn at least 16 points to be eligible for the draw. Each winner will get two tickets,” he added.
Almost 80 percent of the tickets for the concert will be given free of cost. All one needs to do to avail of the free tickets is signup on Global Citizen’s website, www.globalcitizen.in, and send petitions or share content about the social issues that they care about the most.
Each action would earn them points, which can be redeemed for a chance to avail a free pass for the inaugural Global Citizen Festival India.
The event will be headlined by Brit Rock band Coldplay and feature performances by the hip-hop legend Jay Z, and Bollywood stars Aamir Khan, Ranveer Singh, Katrina Kaif, Farhan Akhtar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor along with music maestro A. R. Rahman, music composer trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and singers like Arijit Singh and Monali Thakur.
