Applicants assigned the college listed as their ‘first preference’ will have to compulsorily take admission in the current round while others can apply for a different college in the next round

The first merit list for first-year junior college (FYJC) admissions in Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) was released around 5:30 pm on Friday, July 12.

Around 2.11 lakh students applied for admissions this year, almost 20 thousand fewer than last year’s 2.31 lakh. Of them, around 1.85 lakh students were eligible for admissions in the general admission round.

This year, applicants can choose from 849 junior colleges in the MMR, which have a total of 3.19 lakh seats.

Now that the first merit list is out, here’s what applicants need to do next.

Check Allotted College

Those who have applied for admission in the general round can check their allotted college from the official website.

To do so, students need to:

# Visit https://mumbai.11thadmission.net
# Click on ‘Centralized Allocation Round 1’
# Enter ‘Application Form Number’ and hit search

The next page will display the college allotted in the current round.

What’s Next

Applicants who were assigned the college listed as their ‘first preference’ will have to compulsorily take admission in the current round as they will not be included in the subsequent rounds (round 2 and 3).

If they fail to take admission in the current round, they only will be eligible to apply for another college in the special round – which will be announced after the completion of the first three rounds.

In order to confirm admission to the assigned college, students first need to login to their account and click on ‘Confirm Admission’ button. Then, they need to visit the college and pay the requisite fees between July 13 to July 16.

Meanwhile, applicants who are unhappy with the college assigned in the current round can try for a better college by filling the form for the next round, along with a fresh list of preferred colleges.

The vacancy and cut-off list for the next round will be published at 7 pm on July 16. Applicants will be able to edit Part II of the admission form, which includes the list of preferred colleges, between 11 am on July 17 to 5 pm on July 18.

The second general merit list will be declared at 6 pm on July 22.
