3 men rob renowned fashion designer’s Khar store
On Wednesday, Khar police registered a theft case against three unidentified men who broke into renowned designer Monisha Jaisingh’s Khar boutique.
While examining the store, police came across the footage of the theft from the CCTV cameras fitted at the showroom. The store is located at the ground floor of Shailja building.
According to police, the incident occurred in the wee hours of Tuesday when three unidentified men wandering on Khar streets stopped by the designer’s store and quickly scanned the place.
From the CCTV footage, police found out that the men first threatened the guard of the store. Then, they smashed the windowpanes of the shop with a stone and entered it.
The trio first took Rs 11,000 kept in the drawer, before spotting a safe next to the counter. After multiple attempts of breaking the safe failed, the decided to leave the store. Before leaving, one of them also stole two mobile phones that were kept on the table.
As the accused were leaving, the building’s watchmen spotted them and tried to catch them, but failed. Since the store’s security guard was missing, they alerted the store manager who filed a complaint with the Khar police.
While speaking to Mumbai Mirror, senior inspector Ramchandra Jadhav of Khar police station said, “The store manager has registered a theft complaint with us. We are at present going through the CCTV footage for clues. The accused will be nabbed soon.”
