Chhota Rajan gets death threat from Chhota Shakeel while he is in jail
Don Chhota Rajan, who was deported to India after getting caught from Bali in Indonesia last year, continues to be on the receiving end of death threats while he is inside the high security Tihar jail.
According to police sources, Chhota Shakeel – an aide of fugitive underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, had sent a SMS to a senior Tihar jail official threatening to eliminate Chhota Rajan. The SMS prompted the senior officer to seek additional security.
The SMS, sent from the number 971504265138, to Tihar Law Officer Sunil Gupta, threatened ‘The End’ of Chhota Rajan very soon. Following the SMS, a similar threat was made on call to Tihar’s landline number.
On call, Shakeel allegedly said, “How long will you save this dead pig from death, very soon I will do his the end.”
Police has been informed the threat and a Special Cell officer confirmed the receipt of the message by the Tihar official.
Sources claim that Gupta had received the SMS in the morning of November 24 last year after which he brought the matter to the attention of his seniors and sought security for himself and his family. The matter is now being investigated by police.
After being on the run for 27 years, Chhota Rajan was arrested in Bali, Indonesia on October 25 on a Red Corner notice of Interpol. He was deported and brought to India on November 6 for facing trial in various criminal cases registered against him. He was transferred to Tihar jail on November 19.
Rajan, once a close aide of Dawood Ibrahim, is facing trial in over 70 cases of murder, extortion and drug smuggling. Since his arrival, he has been making claims of having evidence to nail Ibrahim and prove his links to Pakistan’s ISI.
