A ring and a diamond necklace, with a combined value of over Rs 80 lakh, were reported missing from filmmaker and Aamir Khan’s wife Kiran Rao’s house in Mumbai.

Rao’s father reportedly filed a complaint about the jewellery missing from a cupboard in their apartment on Carter Road with Khar Police station on November 24.

Based on the complaint, an FIR was registered under Section 380 (theft in dwelling house) of the Indian Penal Code.

Senior police inspector Ramchandra Jadhav of Khar police station confirmed to a daily that a case has been registered and investigation is currently underway.

Rao employs three helps, cook Farana, assistant Suzanna and domestic help Jhumki, all of whom are being questioned. Cops have also searched their houses, but come up empty.

No arrests have been made so far.

According to one source, the police also visited the spot but found no other leads. Roa last saw the jewellery in October.

The filmmaker-turned-producer had directed the film ‘Dhobi Ghat’ starring Aamir back in 2010.
