Kurla resident stabs girlfriend to death after she decides to marry someone else
VB Nagar police have arrested a 25-year-old man for stabbing his girlfriend to death with a scissor. The accused, Sameer Mohammad Umar Varsi, had earlier told the police that the scissor had accidentally fallen on her.
Both Varsi and the girl, Rekha Mangwana (25), were in the seat cover-fitting business. They met each other over a business discussion and eventually started dating.
Varsi was already married and had a three year old kid, although he had been living separately for the last few years. Since Rekha’s parents opposed to their marriage, she decided to leave Varsi and get married according to her family’s wishes.
When the accused learn about her marriage plans, he invited her to his workshop on Saturday. After a heated argument, Varsi, in a fit of rage, stabbed Rekha in the chest with the scissor.
After realising his mistake, he rushed her to Kohinoor hospital. But, Rekha succumbed to her injuries. According to preliminary investigation, the death was a result of a lung puncture.
During investigation, Varsi insisted that the scissor fell on her while she was sleeping. However, after doctors confirmed that the wound was too deep to have been caused due to a free falling scissor, police took him under custody.
During interrogation, Varsi confessed to the crime. He has been booked under Section 302 (punishment for murder) of the IPC and remanded to police custody.
