Mira-Bhayander dons a dirty look as conservancy workers go on strike

Heaps of garbage lie uncleared on Phatak Road in Bhayander (W) as scores of contractual conservancy workers employed by the Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation (MBMC) have gone on a strike.
According to locals, if the agitation continues and the garbage is not cleared of the streets, the situation will get worse and can even lead to spread of disease.
The strike has been organized to protest against the removal of 300 contract workers employed by the MBMC.
Update: The workers have relented and allowed the garbage to be cleared from the road.
