Mumbai family buys 10 sea-view apartments in Worli worth Rs 232 crore
In a record deal of sorts, an affluent city-based family has bought ten ultra-luxury apartments in Omkar 1973 project in Worli, Mumbai worth an estimated Rs 232 crore.
The development was confirmed by ET, citing credible sources who were in the know about the sale. Even for the country’s most expensive property market, a deal of this magnitude is rare.
Typically, most high-value deals in the city were confined to South Mumbai. However, the trend is slowly changing due to the number of new luxury skyscrapers coming up in areas like Worli and Lower Parel.
The Sindhi business family paid Rs 232 crore, without including stamp duty, for the ten apartments. Being a joint family, it is speculated that they have purchased the apartments for personal use.
“The transaction has been concluded recently and will be registered soon. The cost does not include the stamp duty amount. Out of the 10 apartments, five are bare shells and can be customized later,” a source told the daily.
The builder, Omkar Realtors & Developers, however declined to comment on the sale.
According to the report, the sea-view apartments have a total built-up area of around 50,000 sq ft. Five of them are ready to move in and are below the 51st floor.
The Omkar 1973 project comprises of three towers – A, B and C – which have more than than 400 apartments ranging from 3,000 sq ft to 18,000 sq ft. The prices range from Rs 15 crore to Rs 100 crore, with Tower C being the most luxurious.
Noted personalities like Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, DY Patil and Baba Kalyani among others have already bought flats in the project.
The Indian cricket captain, who bought his apartment last year, spent an estimated Rs 34 crore on his 7,000 sq ft flat which is located on the 35th floor of Tower C.
