1. A CCTV footage depicting a robbery, undertaken by a group of women and a girl child in a Navi Mumbai store, surfaced this week.
2. The incident happened last week when three women and one girl entered a Navi Mumbai store under the pretence of making a purchase. While the woman, who had covered their head with dupattas, kept the attendants busy, the little girl sneakily went to the cash counter and tried removing cash.
3. Since the drawer was locked, the woman kept shielding the girl from the eyes of the staff till she was able to search for the key and remove bundles of cash. After removing the cash, the little girl put the money in a bag and signalled the women, who then took a leave.
4. The incident came to light after the shopkeeper realized that over Rs 20,000 had been stolen from the cash counter and decided to check the CCTV footage. The store manager later informed the police.
5. On the basis of the footage, police conducted an investigation and have managed to arrest 2 out of the 3 women from Sewri railway station. The little girl has also been caught and sent to a juvenile home. The third woman is still on the run.
