Local Press Co 5-point Snippet
1. Rishi Kapoor is amongst the few Bollywood veterans who are active on social media platform, Twitter. Ever since the Kapoor and Sons actor made his debut on the micro-blogging site in 2010, he has been known to speak his mind freely.
2. The actor has been known to be active on Twitter during evenings, voicing his opinions on matters that catch his fancy. What makes him different than most celebs, though, is his daring attitude and brutal honesty.
3. Last night Kapoor took on the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty as he questioned why most streets and infrastructure in the country are named after Rajiv Gandhi, Indira Gandhi or Jawaharlal Nehru.
4. He added that India’s cultural icons like Lata Mangeshkar, Amitabh Bachchan, Kishore Kumar and industrialists like JRD Tata deserve to be honoured by naming structures after them.
5. The 63-year-old even suggested that the Bandra-Worli Sea link be renamed to JRD Tata or Lata Mangeshkar link road. Kapoor’s remarks are best explained in his own tweets:
Change Gandhi family assets named by Congress.Bandra/Worli Sea Link to Lata Mangeshkar or JRD Tata link road. Baap ka maal samjh rakha tha ?
