In the string of updates Facebook is rolling out, the social networking giant has confirmed that it will revamp its feed to include a dedicated news section.
On Friday, screenshots started making their way on Twitter and Facebook which showed the new layout of the mobile app. The screenshots highlighted a separate news section with topics like US, World and Sports.
Although Facebook will showcase the news section on its website and app through user’s feeds, the doesn’t plan on stopping there. It also has plans of launching a standalone news app.
In the past, Facebook has faced stiff competition from rival Twitter over news consumption on their respective platforms. With the inclusion of a dedicated section, Facebook, will stand a much better chance of taking on Twitter.
Although the new section has been thoroughly tested, the company hasn’t announced when it will actually launch it.Back to latest news
