Selena Gomez breaks Instagram record with ‘most liked’ photo

Singer Selena Gomez’s fans have earned her a place in Instagram’s hall of fame after an image she shared recently became the ‘most liked’ picture on the platform on Tuesday.
The 23-year-old brunette singer shared the ‘record-breaking’ picture two weeks back. Since then, it has amassed over 4 million likes (hearts) and counting.
In the picture, the singer is wearing a smoking hot red top and sipping on a bottle of Coca-Cola with a red and white straw. Gomez captioned the picture, “When your lyrics are on the bottle”. The lyrics on the bottle are from the former Disney star’s own song titled “Me and the Rhythm.”
Not surprisingly, Gomez is also the most followed celebrity on Instagram with an envious 89.2 million followers. Her closest competitor, Taylor Swift, has around 85 million followers. Other most followed celebrities include, Kim Kardashian and Justin Bieber with 76.7 million and 74.6 million followers respectively.
With this, Gomez dethroned the previous ‘most liked’ image posted by her ex-flame Justin Bieber. Ironically, Bieber had posted a throwback picture of him kissing Gomez three months back, which had garnered 3.7 million likes since then. The image had been taken when the two were dating each other.

Before Bieber, a photo shared by Kendall Jenner showing her lying on the floor with her hair ‘making hearts’ had received 3.6 million likes.
