Swara Ramchandra Shirsat, who was shot at a hotel in Bhiwandi earlier today, is currently out of danger. The 25-year-old was attacked at K.N Park Hotel on Kalyan-Bhiwandi in Bhiwandi, where she worked as a receptionist.

According to police, two persons came to the hotel on a motorbike around 4 pm and opened fire. The duo escaped the premises after one of them shot Shirsat. The victim, meanwhile, was rushed to a private hospital in Kongaon where she is still recovering.

“The hotel owner was getting calls for ransom from Suresh Pujari gang for the past few days, and today’s incident is suspected to be related to the same,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police Manoj Patil.

Sources told Local Press Co that the assailants also left a note during the attack, purportedly from Pujari, but the same could not be independently confirmed. Meanwhile, an FIR has been registered against the attackers and further probe is underway.
