Ranveer-Deepika aren’t just in a relationship, they’re secretly engaged

If the viral video of Deepika blowing kisses to Ranveer wasn’t proof enough of their commitment, the news of their engagement should be.

Without a shadow of a doubt, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone are the hottest couple in B-town. But, like many before them, the couple seems adamant about not admitting their affair.

Each time they’re posed the question, the couple responds with neither a confirmation nor a denial, leaving everyone guessing about the status quo. Fortunately, Ranveer is slightly less coy than Ms. Padukone and shares enough to let everyone know what the lovely couple are upto.

Ranveer’s acceptance speech at IIFA 2016 was a prime example of how the couple confesses their love while leaving room for confusion. While accepting the Best Actor award for Bajirao Mastani, the actor said, “There is another special person I must thank. I was moved by her performance. She is the Leela to my Ram, Mastani to my Bajirao and I don’t know what’s next. Girl, you are so fine. Nothing makes me more happier than you, I mean winning an awards here with you.”

Now, considering the fact that couple has never publicly admitted to their relationship, we were surprised to hear that the couple secretly exchanged rings earlier this year.

According to a report by Mumbai Mirror, Deepika and Ranveer had a secret engagement when the two families met earlier this year in a ‘roka’ type ceremony. Roka is a pre-engagement Punjabi ceremony wherein the couple exchanges rings in front of close family members.

Reportedly, the couple’s families, the Padukones and Bhavnanis (that’s Ranveer’s actual surname in case you were wondering) had marriage on their minds. But, the leggy lass asked everyone to hold their horses and made clear that she at least needed two years before she could settle down with Ranveer.

But, she wasn’t averse to exchanging rings and making their relationship official as far as their respective families were concerned. We tried contacting a source close to Deepika to confirm the news, but they seemed extremely tight lipped about the development.

There’s also speculation that the couple are planning a small getaway on the occasion of Ranveer’s birthday today.
