Man who stabbed rival at Virar station had planned the killing
Terror gripped Virar station on Monday morning as a man hacked another to death with a chopper on the foot overbridge and threatened dumbfounded commuters nearby.
Accused Mohan Pal, who was finally arrested by Virar Police after the GRP and Virar Police spent a good deal deciding under whose jurisdiction the case fell, was said to be mentally unstable.
However, Pal had planned the murder well in advance, something a person who is completely in his senses can do. Sources say the victim has allegedly thrashed Pal several times in the past. To avenge this, Pal said he monitored his rival’s routine.
Aware that the man visited the Jeevdaani temple in Virar once a week, Pal followed him to the footbridge as he got off the train on Monday and executed his revenge plan.
All Pal has told the police till now is that the victim was his rival, but he has refused to reveal his identity.
The police are examining CCTV camera footages to piece together the sequence of events.
