Depressed, 22-year-old fashion designing student kills self in Malad

Heena Jeelani, a 22-year-old fashion designing student from Kolkata, committed suicide by hanging herself in her rented flat in Malad.

The incident came to light on Wednesday evening when the owner of the house knocked on her door to ask her fill water. As she didn’t open the door, he approached her relatives who lived in the adjacent building. They then broke down the door and found her hanging.

The police have found a diary in the house in which she has written that nobody was responsible for her death and then, wrote a note for parents: I love you ammi and abbu. I have made many mistakes in my life.

The police have ruled out any foul play as the door of her room was locked from inside. Also, the police said that the girl’s family has a history of depression and that the too was undergoing treatment for the same over the past one month.

Heena has come to the city a year ago to study fashion designing at Pearl Academy, and was living in the rented flat since then.
