8 injured after bus overturns on Sion-Panvel highway
At least eight people were injured after the bus they were travelling in overturned on the Sion-Panvel Expressway in Mumbai late Thursday night.
The incident took place around 11:30 pm when the bus, travelling from Pune to Mumbai, was about to climb the Sanpada Bridge in Navi Mumbai.
According to sources, the bus driver lost control of the vehicle following which it hit a divider and overturned. While wet roads may have been a contributing factor, it is not known if the driver was speeding.
The bus was carrying 20 people, out of which eight were injured and rushed to NMMC hospital for treatment. They are said to be out of danger.
The incident did not affect traffic on the route.
The incident took place hours after 28 people were injured in a collision between two State Transport buses in Thane.
