Dalit protestors try to disrupt traffic, stop rail services in Thane
Following the call for a Maharashtra bandh, scores of Dalit protestors tried to disrupt both rail and road traffic in Thane early Wednesday morning.
The supporters tried to disrupt rail traffic at Thane station, but were quickly cleared by officials.
“Few protestors tried to disrupt Railway services at Thane but were immediately cleared by RPF and GRP officials. Services are running uninterrupted on Central Railway as of now,” said CPRO, Central Railway.
Similar attempts were made to halt traffic at the busy Teen Haath Naka junction, but heavy police presence ensured motorists were able to cross the junction without any hinderance.
