Firing in Kurla: History-sheeter shot dead, one suspect detained
A history-sheeter, out on bail, was shot dead in Mumbai’s Kurla area in broad daylight on Tuesday morning by two bike-borne assailants.
According to sources, the incident took place around 10 am today when the assailants fired two shots at Jaanu Pawar (aka Billa) while he was walking near Rahat Apartment, located in the vicinity of Hallow Pul in Kurla (West).
Pawar, who was currently out on bail, was rushed by locals to Sion hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Following the attack, Vinoba Bhave Nagar police registered a case and detained one suspect in connection with the firing. Further probe, to ascertain the identity of the attackers and reason for the fatal attack, is currently underway.
The attack, cops say, was pre-planned.
The victim had several cases registered against him. He was earlier arrested in connection with a murder case and recently released on bail.
