Mumbai police rescues kidnapped toddler in 6 hours, arrests culprit
Mumbai police rescued a two-and-a-half-year-old girl in just six hours after she was abducted from outside a shop in Mumbai’s Saki Naka area on Friday. The team also arrested a 28-year-old man in connection with the case.
The incident came to light yesterday when the child – Shireen Fatima – suddenly disappeared from the site while playing outside her father’s shop.
“Fatima was playing outside, but when we came outside to call her she was not there,” said Shireen’s father.
The family immediately filed a complaint with the nearest police station.
The police team, under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Avinash Dharmadhikari of Saki Naka police station, started the investigation immediately and checked the CCTV cameras installed in the area.
In a matter of hours, they traced and identified the kidnapper, 28-year-old Sandeep Parab. Even the child was safely rescued and reunited with her parents.
The motive behind the kidnapping, meanwhile, is still not known.
The parents thanked and lauded the Saki Naka police team for their valiant effort. Netizens also showered the team with praises after details of the incident were shared on social media.
