NCB arrests drug kingpin, two female aides near Kurla bus depot; seize 1.8 kg charas
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested a drug smuggler along with his two female aides this week and seized 1.8 kg of charas (pressed hashish) from them.
Acting on a tip-off, NCB officials arrested the trio from a place near the Kurla bus depot in central Mumbai on Thursday. A total of 1.8 kg charas, a resin of the cannabis plant, was seized from their possession.
Officials did not reveal the names of the accused.
A preliminary probe revealed that the man among the three arrested accused was the kingpin of the racket which had links with the international narcotics trade. He is also wanted in at least three cases of the NCB.
His modus operandi involved smuggling charas to Gulf countries and bringing back gold to India.
Further investigation in the case is underway.
