AC bus catches fire near Suman Nagar in Chembur

1. Around 1:45 pm on Monday, a luxury AC bus reportedly caught fire and was engulfed in flames near Chembur.

2. At the time of catching fire, the bus was stationed on the north-bound road near the Suman Nagar traffic police chowky, adjacent to the flyover.

3. Five minutes after the fire was first reported, around 1:50 pm, motorists heard a loud noise that resembled a cylinder blast. Traffic police cordoned off the area and fire officials were alerted immediately.

4. Two fire engines reached the spot within 15-20 minutes and the fire was doused around 2:40 pm. The fire affected the flow of traffic towards Sion.

5. Although no casualties have been reported till now, further details are awaited.
