Harsha Bhogle is often called as the voice of Indian cricket. The 52-year-old has been a part of the IPL ever since 2008. This year, though, his presence will be absent from 9th season of the Indian Premier League because the BCCI has terminated his contract.
Bhogle was taken by surprise about his termination, which he was only informed of last week. He was all prepped for IPL 9, as he participated in the 51-day commentator’s roster and his flights were booked. He was even featured in the promos of 9th edition of the IPL.
A BCCI official, when pressed about the matter has stated, “When deciding the commentators, we take feedback from everyone. We monitor social media reactions on commentators, and also take inputs from players.”
However, the true reason of Bhogle’s termination is still unknown.
