In Pictures: Lego pays tribute to Star Wars by building worlds largest Millennium Falcon
Fans of the popular Star Wars franchise celebrate May 4, chosen for the pun on the catch phrase “May the Force be with you” for “May the Fourth be with you”, as ‘Star Wars Day’.
This year, Lego unveiled a massive replica of the Millennium Falcon at its Legoland theme park in Malaysia to pay a tribute to the franchise.
Lego claims that the Millennium Falcon, which took around 50 hours to build, is the largest in the world.
A father and son lego builder team, Dan and Christopher Steiniger, constructed the 4.8-by-3.6 metre model with 250,000 bricks over the weekend.
Last year, the father-son duo had built a Corellian YT-1300, the Millennium Falcon flown by Han Solo and Chewbacca, in Melbourne. But, the model was smaller than the one built in Malaysia this year.
