Pratyusha suicide: Rahul tells police he knew about actress’ pregnancy

Rahul Raj Singh, who has been booked for allegedly abetting the suicide of his girlfriend and TV star Pratyusha Banerjee, told the Mumbai police that he was aware of the ‘Balika vadhu’ actress’ pregnancy but never accompanied her to the doctor.

However, while speaking to the media outside Bangur Nagar police station, Rahul changed his statement. He told the media that Pratyusha was not pregnant, only depressed.

Yesterday, the medical experts at JJ hospital confirmed that Pratyusha Banerjee was two months pregnant and had undergone an abortion days before her alleged suicide on April 1.

Rahul’s former lawyer, Neeraj Gupta, demanded Mumbai police to investigate whether the actress was forced to undergo the abortion and if Rahul threatened her to get out of the relationship.

The 24-year-old actress was found hanging at her residence in Goregaon on April 1.
