At Rs 336 crore, lenders put Kingfisher logo, tagline on sale
Finding no buyers for Kingfisher House, the once-upon-a-time headquarters of Vijay Mallya’s now defunct air carrier, lenders have decided to auction the trademarks of the airline, including for ‘Kingfisher’ logo and once-famous ‘Fly the Good Times’ tagline on April 30.
The reserve price for the trademarks that also include Flying Models, Fly the Good Times, Funliner, Fly Kingfisher, Flying Bird device has been kept at Rs 366 crore.
Mallya had pledged the trademarks as collateral with banks at the time of taking loans from them. The online auction is being conducted by SBICAP Trustee Company, subsidiary of SBI Caps, on behalf of lenders.
It is said to be a desperate attempt to recovers whatever money they can, as the lenders couldn’t find buyers of Mallya’s properties despite trying rally hard.
