A 91-year-old woman died after a branch of a tree fell on her at a residential complex in Walkeshwar Road in south Mumbai on Monday.
According to police, the incident took place yesterday night at a residential complex near Banganga Lake in Walkeshwar.
Sukhi Lalji (91), who sustained serious injuries, was trapped under the branch and the fire brigade had to be called to rescue her.
The elderly woman was subsequently rushed to the state-run Gokuldas Tejpal Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment.
An Accidental Death Report (ADR) has been registered in the case and further investigations were underway.
The incident comes a month after a 38-year-old man died after a tree fell on his head in Mumbai’s Dadar area.
The tree fell outside Mumbai Marathi Granth Sangrahalaya around 3:45 pm on April 19 when the victim, identified as Dinesh Sangle, was walking on the footpath.Back to latest news
