Now just give a missed call to know the running status of local trains

To keep its suburban passengers informed about delays and disruptions, the Western Railway has launched a service through which commuters would be able to know the running status of local trains by just giving a missed call.

All that a commuter has to do is just dial the Toll Free No. 1800 212 4502. The call will get disconnected after a couple of rings subsequent to which an SMS will be sent informing the running status of local trains.

This service was launched yesterday and the initial feedback that the railways received from the commuters was very encouraging.

However, commuters say that that railway should stick with such initiatives because in recent past many other message-based services were launched, but were scrapped over a period of time.
