Woman and 2 grandchildren murdered at her Malwani residence

Malwani police was alerted of a triple murder, involving a woman and her grand children, on Thursday.
47-year-old Babli Shaw was a resident of New Collector Compound, Plot No 23 in Malwani, Malad.
On Thursday morning, Babli and her two grandchildren, Aryan Ismail Shaikh (13) and Sania Ismain Shaikh (8), were found dead at her residence.
The trio were brutally murdered with a sharp knife by an unidentified person, who managed to escape after committing the crime.
Malwani police has cordoned off the area and sent the bodies to a nearby hospital for postmortem. Cops are awaiting the report before disclosing the exact cause of death.
Investigation is underway and further details are awaited.
Update:
The grandmother was stabbed to death, while the children’s throat was slit. The children had been staying with their grandmother since their mother died and father re-married.
The incident took place on Wednesday night and cops were informed about it on Thursday morning.
