4 injured in stampede at Veena Nagar, Mulund
At least four people were injured during a stampede in Mumbai’s Mulund (West) area on Friday morning.
According to preliminary information, over 500 people had gathered in Mulund’s Veena Nagar area since early morning for the pharmacy registration drive.
Around 9 am, many people in the crowd started running for cover due to a sudden downpour, resulting in a stampede.
Four persons were reportedly injured in the mishap and rushed to a nearby hospital. While three were discharged immediately, one person is still receiving treatment.
Maharashtra State Pharmacy Council had earlier urged students/applicants to register their names as registered pharmacists and apply online from August 7.
However, the council was accepting offline applications from June 30 and allotting 200 tokes per day on a first come first serve basis.
