Nigerian national arrested with drugs in Mankhurd
The Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of Mumbai Police has arrested a 27-year-old Nigerian national from Mumbai’s Mankhurd area for possession of mephedrone worth Rs 4.20 lakh.
According to officials, the Ghatkopar unit of ANC on Monday arrested Anayo Okolie Sanday, a resident of Nallasopara in neighbouring Thane district.
Sanday had come to sell the drugs near Mankhurd T Junction on Sion-Panvel Highway when he was identified by an informant and subsequently nabbed by a team led by Police Inspector Shashank Shelke.
During a search, police found 210 gm mephedrone worth Rs 4.20 lakh in his possession.
The cops have registered a case under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act 1985 and launched an investigation to trace the source and the buyer of the banned substance.
Mephedrone is a synthetic stimulant drug of the amphetamine and cathinone classes. In the illicit market, it is more commonly referred to as drone, M-CAT, White Magic and meow meow.
