Bodies of 2 fishermen who died in Karachi jail to reach Mumbai today
The bodies of two Gujarat-based fishermen, who had reportedly died in a Karachi jail, will be brought to India today. The bodies will be sent by Pakistan authorities to Mumbai by air.
One of the fishermen, Bagha Chauhan, had died on December 12 and Rattan Das on February 8. Their relatives were demanding their bodies since then.
Following the initiative taken by NGOs Folklore Academy (FRA) and Pakistan-India Peoples’ Forum for Peace and Democracy, Pakistan decided to handover the bodies to their families.
The NGOs have been informed by Pakistan authorities that that both the bodies would reach Mumbai today through PIA and be handed over to the Gujarat authorities.
